Thank you to all who joined us yesterday evening for our fellowcraft degree, and a special thank you to Brother Seymour for preparing the wonderful meal ahead of the degree work. Your November columns is ready and will be in the mail soon!

Happy Independence Day! Our July calendar filled up quick, so please be sure to read your July 2011 Columns.
- Please keep in mind that the Master Masons Association breakfast will be a picnic this year. July 9th at Melrose Lodge at noon. Please come out, bring a friend and your family to enjoy some fellowship with the brethren of the 22nd Masonic District.
- Our July Stated Communication will be our family picnic! You will likely be getting a call from one of the brethren to remind you and ask about bringing a dessert or side. This is a great opportunity to bring out the family and enjoy some summer fun. We will have the picnic at the shelter behind the lodge starting around 6PM before the stated communication on the 18th, so come on down!
- We have an EA degree scheduled for the 25th, and one of our Fellowcraft will be giving his EA catechism afterwards. Please come out and support your lodge as we welcome our new brother.
March has proved to be a busy month! We initiated a new brother, raised brother Thomas to the sublime degree of Master Mason, and enjoyed a wonderful ladies night dinner for our stated communication (see photo). We have new degree work to perform, and the lodge is growing. We have one more MM degree to perform this coming Monday the 28th. Dinner will be served at 6pM and the degree will start at 7PM. In addition, our March Night Out on the Town will be at Bad Wolf BBQ on Williamson Road this coming Thursday. Please be sure to look out for your April columns coming in the mail soon. Included in this issue is a list of some upcoming Child ID programs. I look forward to seeing you Monday night for the degree and Thursday for our Night Out.
Please join Pleasants Lodge on Monday, March 7th as we welcome a new member to our fraternity. We will have dinner before-hand at 6PM and the degree will start at 7PM. Worshipful Fred Knapp from Vinton Lodge has graciously offered to assist us by giving the EA degree lecture.
Degree: We have a few parts in the degree ritual open! To help coordinate attendance, there is a list of the attendees and available parts (click here). Please contact us (click here) if you would like to participate.
Dinner: We will use this same sign up sheet to make sure we have an accurate count of how many to cook dinner for. Please RSVP to the lodge. The menu is yet to be determined, but if anyone would like to offer to cook, please let us know!
Brethren, Pleasants Lodge is growing!! We need your help putting on our upcoming degrees. On Monday, Feb 28th we will be rehearsing both the EA and MM degrees in preparation for our upcoming degree work. We have three degrees total, so the first two Mondays in March will both be degree nights. While we have yet to determine exactly which degree we will be doing on which night, we are leaning towards doing the EA degree first. That would make our March schedule as follows:
Feb 28th: 6PM Dinner, 7PM ritual school to rehearse the EA and MM degrees.
Mar 7th: 6PM Dinner, 7PM EA degree
Mar 14th: 6PM Dinner, 7PM MM degree
Mar 21st: Stated communication: LADIES NIGHT. Please RSVP to the lodge if you and your lady plan to attend so we can have dinner prepared!
Mar 28th: 6PM Dinner, 7PM MM degree
We will only have dinners on rehearsal / ritual nights if there is enough interest, so please RSVP via email to email@example.com or to an officer if you’ll be available to join us for dinner.
Speaking of Dinner
I would like to personally thank Bro. Mac McCombs for the outstanding dinner at our last stated communication. His enchiladas left a lot of happy faces on our brethren and guests (including R.W. Art Pendleton for his official visit as our DDGM!), and I look forward to taking him up on his offer of preparing more meals at our future events.
Pleasants’ first stated communication of 2011 went well. The W.M. made some remarks about the new Master’s Wages program and discussed the programs for the year. For more information about the Master’s Wages program, please read the January 2011 Columns if you haven’t already.
Pleasants has two FC degrees scheduled for Monday, Jan. 31st. All brethren are welcome. In addition, we will be having a dinner at 6PM prior to the degrees. If you’re interested in joining us for dinner, please RSVP to the lodge via the information on the contact page.
Pleasants will also be having a dinner prior to the February stated communication. Please contact us and RSVP if you would like to join us for the meal.
We would like to welcome our newest Master Mason to the lodge. Congratulations to Brother Bullock! We look forward to seeing you in lodge.
With the assistance of brethren from throughout the 22nd District, Pleasants Lodge was pleased to initiate three new brothers Monday evening. Welcome to Pleasants, Brothers Bullock, McCombs, and Thomas. We look forward to seeing you progress as you begin your journey in masonry!
In lieu of our regularly scheduled ritual school for June 28th, members of Pleasants Lodge assisted Williamson Road lodge in raising a new brother. Congratulations Brother Lee, and we hope to see you again soon at future 22nd District events!
